Appliance production giant Siemens has moved forward on its plans for 3D printing machine. The well-known company has developed a component manufacturing platform that connects users around the world. The project is spearheaded by their Product Lifecycle Management business division. Siemens has aimed the platform at various professionals within the industrial 3D printing sphere, with the express purpose of creating an ecosystem to accelerate the usage of industrial 3D printing.
“Siemens is one of the only companies addressing the diverse needs of all additive manufacturing market participants – from designers and engineers, to manufacturers, 3D printing machine OEMs, material vendors and software providers – with a comprehensive set of seamless technology solutions for distributed industrial additive manufacturing and co-innovation,” said Tony Hemmelgarn, President and Chief Executive Officer, Siemens PLM Software. “Today’s announcement builds on that leadership with a platform aimed at instantly connecting the people, technology, equipment and expertise needed to efficiently address mutual business opportunities.”
The software is set to launch in 2018. This has many implications for the industry. It could potentially speed up the interactions between producers and customers. Another important factor it will affect is resource utilisation. Resources will be allocated more efficiently, if Siemen’s manage to get t running as they originally intended.
It also offers many opportunities for business to link up to each other. As a result, it will change the standard supply chain and allow companies to cohabit their spheres of expertise. For example, parts buyers will be connected to micro-factories, allowing for easier order placement and greater synergy in operations.
Siemens and 3D printingSiemens has been making great strides in Additive Manufacturing. This latest one is indicative of the direction they are choosing. They seem to be heading down the industrial printing path. A company of the size and stature of Siemens developing a software like this is indicative of a potential industrial printing wave within the business.
Siemens has a history with additive manufacturing. They have previously innovated in parts for printers like efficient gas turbines. This new step forward allows them to act as the mediators within the industry. It will be interesting to see how this sector develops as the marketplace moves forward.
By the way, i would like to introduce our 3d printer diy kit for you--T-REX 2+. It is our popular model which has auto bed leveling. You even can not find a similar 3d printer at such a lower price!
