The most common metal 3D printing type overview(2)

Last time, we have introduced some most common metal 3d printing type, now, i’m continue introducing it for you.
Magnetic printing
This system is mainly used by Vader Systems. The method uses metallic ink, sprayed and magnetized to produce very fast and complex different shapes. It is used by Lockheed Martin for aerospace.
Directional energy deposition
DED is actually a comprehensive term covering a large number of additive manufacturing terms. These include “Laser Engineering Net Shaping”, “Directed Light Fabrication”, “Direct Metal Deposition” and “3D Laser Cladding”. Its main purpose is to add to an existing object instead of creating a completely new one from scratch. Use laser to heat the material or wire on an existing object and weld them together using any DED method. It offers a very high ability to control the grain structure making it ideal for complex restoration work. Few materials are available in the DED compared to other methods, which may put it at a disadvantage.
Lens
LENS is a laser-based metal printing method that fuses powders into a printed structure. Like many other laser-based metal printing methods, LENS requires a very controlled environment. This process requires a sealed chamber, usually using argon to purge the oxygen. This keeps the oxidation level as low as possible. LENS laser power range from 500W to 4kW. This process has been used to treat titanium, stainless steel and Inconel. Despite the difficulty of maintaining anaerobic chambers, LENS gives users a degree of accuracy and control, with very few additive manufacturing methods to achieve. After the LENS process is complete, the parts still need to be done separately.
E-beam freely formed
Originally developed by NASA a decade ago, EBFE was a major method used in aviation. This method can create surprisingly complex geometries without any material waste. This is a natural metal 3D printing method, thanks to its ability to create lightweight shapes that promote fuel-saving, space-agency use. As its name implies, it uses an electron beam to cure the fuse. This is a good way to turn almost liquefied metal into a new shape.
Laser metal deposition
LMD is similar in many ways to melting or sintering techniques. The technology allows powders to be deposited and heated to a platform using lasers. To date, the technology is suitable for iron-based, cobalt-based, nickel-based alloys, tungsten carbide and other metal powder coated metals. This is useful for reinforcement, repair, recycling or direct manufacturing.
MOVINGLight Metal DLP Printing
Metal DLP printing is quite a recent development. Prodways is one of the most famous MOVINGLight technology leaders. This technique uses a metal powder with an organic binder around it for UV curing. The adhesive must be removed by oven heating to produce the complete part. MOVINGLight is an incredibly fast technology. It can produce structures quickly. In many ways, this is not quite the same as standard DLP style printing. However, one of the things that masters this technique is that the material is hard to produce. It requires the combination of a variety of elements with organic binders.
Ultrasound particle manipulation
UPM is a relatively new method that can use metals as well as various other materials. Researchers believe that this method to make full use of the potential to create complex technologies from start to finish. It will be able to mix a variety of materials into a cohesive whole. UPM uses sound to manipulate various particles. Another way to make it unique is that it does not need to touch the material itself. The sound hovers the particles over the floor of the machine and assumes the desired shape. This method is still in the test phase, but it promises to be one that could shake up manufacturing as a whole.
The all information is mentioned above, i will be happy if there are something you need. And any confusions about our 3d printers, contact us with: xinke3d@gmail.com or look through our website.
